KTR calls on BRS cadre to ensure victory in municipal elections
BRS working president KT Rama Rao has urged party leaders to step up efforts for municipal elections, stressing that public resentment against the Congress government is growing just two years into its tenure.
Hyderabad: Stressing that the Congress government was facing severe public resentment within two years of coming to power, BRS working president KT Rama Rao called upon party leaders to ensure the party’s victory in the municipal elections across the State.
He held a teleconference with party constituency in-charges, municipal coordinators and district presidents on Tuesday. He said people were closely observing the Congress government’s deceit and its failure to fulfil the promises made to them. The political atmosphere was in favour of the BRS and the people would definitely teach the Congress party a lesson in the municipal elections, he said.
“Expose the Congress government’s failures. If we work diligently and in coordination for the next one week, BRS will win with a thumping majority,” Rama Rao said, emphasising that coordination among leaders and workers was crucial.
All rebel candidates who withdrew their nominations in response to the party’s appeal should be welcomed back into the party, he added.
“BRS candidates should personally visit the homes of every leader who sacrificed for the party’s cause and involve them in the campaign. It is the responsibility of coordinators to ensure due respect to them and put up a united fight,” Rama Rao said.
With the withdrawal of nominations concluding on Tuesday, instructions were issued to coordinators to submit a comprehensive ground report to the party’s head office. Stating that every minute was crucial in the final stage of campaigning, the BRS working president asked district presidents and former Ministers to assess winning prospects in their respective municipalities and chalk out plans to ensure the victory of BRS candidates.
He also advised leaders to focus on increasing voter turnout on polling day. All municipal coordinators were directed to remain in their designated areas until the elections were completed.
