Khammam: It has become a habit for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to resort to personal insults and body-shaming against former ministers and MLAs, regardless of which district he visits, stated former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
Referring to Revanth Reddy’s remarks made against him at Friday’s public meeting in Khammam, the former minister noted that what the people care about is a leader’s character, not physical appearance.
Ajay Kumar said he had publicly shared that he lost an eye in a car accident years ago. Lacking subject knowledge and forgetting the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office, Revanth Reddy stooped low to make comments about his missing eye.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday Ajay Kumar pointed out that personal insults and character assassination constitute CM Revanth’s agenda and he was making derogatory remarks unbecoming of a Chief Minister.
The BRS leader told Revanth Reddy to compare the work he accomplished as a minister with a single eye to what the current three ministers with proper eye-sight have achieved. He said the public knows how effectively he worked and the development he achieved with just one eye.
As the Congress government allowed Godavari waters to flow downstream, the Andhra Pradesh government was lifting and diverting the waters through the Pattiseema project. Revanth Reddy lacks even the slightest sincerity regarding Telangana’s interests, Ajay Kumar alleged.
Although former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao initiated the Sitarama project, Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao claims credit for bringing it about. The previous BRS regime spent Rs 9,000 crore on the project, whereas the expenditure made by the current government was negligible, he added.
Senior BRS leaders Gundala Krishna, Bachu Vijay Kumar, K Nagabhushanam, Pagadala Nagaraju and others were present.
