Khammam: Mana Ooru Mana Badi- Mana Basti Mana Badi introduced by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was set to transform the public education system in Telangana, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The programme amply demonstrates how a State could achieve development in all fields if it was led by a Chief Minister who fully understands the needs of people. Chandrashekhar Rao was committed to give a boost to education and health sectors in the State, he noted.
The minister launched development works worth Rs. 8.91 lakh at an Upper Primary School at Rankya thanda in Raghunathpalem mandal and Rs 13.30 lakhs worth works at Government Primary School at Rotary Nagar in Khammam on Saturday covering 12-components of the programme.
Ajay Kumar called on villagers, School Management Committees, Alumni Associations and NRIs to to become partners and make collective efforts in making the schools in villages ideal schools to fulfill the Chief Minister’s dream of developing government schools on par with corporate schools.
Mana Ooru Mana Badi programme was being implemented with an estimated cost of Rs 7, 280 crore to development around 26,000 schools in the State in three phases. The programme heralds a new era in public education system, he asserted.
English medium would be introduced in ensuing academic year. The government was taking care to make textbooks in English and Telugu easier for students to understand. Teachers would be trained this summer vacation, so that they could sharpen their skills and train students.
Chandrashekhar Rao was working hard to achieve a golden age for the people of Telangana by bringing about a complete change in all fields. Last year the government spent Rs 30,000 crore in welfare and this year Rs 90,000 crore was allocated for the purpose, the minister explained.
District Collector VP Gautham informed that a total of 426 schools were selected in the first phase. ZP Chairman L Kamal Raju wanted the teachers to strive hard to fulfill the objectives of Mana Ooru Mana Badi.
SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, Agriculture Market Committee Chairperson D Lakshmi Prasanna, DEO S Yadaiah, DRDO Vidyachandana, R&B EE Shyam Prasad and Panchayat Raj EE Srinivasa Rao were present.
