Hyderabad: Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) president Manda Krishna Madiga on Friday issued a stern warning to the Congress, stating that their struggle against the government would commence if the SC categorisation was not implemented by February 7.

He said that a massive protest, ‘Madiga Tsunami’, will take place in Hyderabad. Addressing a preparatory meeting of what he called ‘Laksha Dappulu, Vela Gonthulu’ event, he highlighted the government’s failure to act on the promise made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in the Assembly to implement the SC categorisation within five months of the Supreme Court‘s verdict.

He criticised the government for not fulfilling its commitment and warned that the protest would be inevitable if the categorisation was not implemented by the given deadline.

Krishna Madiga also pointed out that the delay in categorisation has adversely affected many Madiga unemployed youth, who have been deprived of opportunities due to the government’s inaction.

He accused the Malas of obstructing the categorisation process and warned that the Congress government would collapse if it continued to ignore the demands of the Madiga community.

The MRPS president called for a peaceful demonstration and urged people from all walks of life, including children, artists, and democratic supporters, to join the cultural event in Hyderabad.

He emphasised that the protest would be a major show of strength and solidarity, with each household contributing a drummer to the cause. He, however, clarified that if the government implements the categorisation, the protest would be called off. Otherwise, the protest would be conducted as decided.
