Hyderabad: South Indian actor Paayal Rajput has something to cheer about the coming season as she bagged an interesting film project. Touted to be a crime thriller, the movie, titled Kirathaka, is being helmed by director M Veerabhadram. The movie sees the RX 100 actor being paired up with Aadi Saikumar. This is the first time that Paayal is working with Aadi.
Divulging a few details about the project, the director says, “It’s going to be a crime thriller. I picked up lines from a few real-life experiences that happened in Visakhapatnam and some parts of Hyderabad as well. I have been on this script for about two years now.”
Elaborating further, Veerabhadram shares, “More than giving a commercial makeup to the story, I felt why can’t I bring out a story that is closer to reality. Because the trend has changed, unless it casts a big-ticket hero, no one would show interest to come to the theatres and watch the film.”
However, the Chuttalabbai director who was encouraged by the fact that so many of the movies that have come in the recent times were all realistic stories that are close to common public, says: “Kirathaka is also a sort of realistic one.” He adds that his flick would surely become a blockbuster like his previous movies Aha Naa Pellanta and Poola Rangadu.
The first schedule of Kirathaka will start in August. “The reason to pick Paayal Rajput for the female lead was because she already had the experience of doing crime thrillers. RX 100 was one of them. Her role as Indu had given her immense fame. She is one of those actors who could instantly get connected to the youth. She listened to the script and immediately okayed it. And she will be playing a slightly similar role; however, the story has various twists and turns,” says the director.
Although Paayal had acted in more than a half-a-dozen films after RX 100, none gave her recognition as much as she got from the Kartikeya-starrer. Hope this crime thriller turn her fortunes in her career.
