Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to go for panchayat elections only after confirming 42 per cent of reservations for BCs.

Speaking to news reporters at Konaipally temple after offering prayers to the presiding deity on Tuesday, he said that the Chief Minister must keep his promise made to BCs. Asking Revanth to keep all his promises made during the election campaign, he further said that Revanth failed to keep his vows even after completing 15 months in power.

“The Chief Minister’s promise on providing better reservations to BCs in local body elections will be no different either,” he observed.

Rao further pointed out that the Congress government had ignored the development of temples in the State. Saying that Revanth failed to release any funds to temples in the State in 15 months, the former minister said the BRS government led by K Chandrashekhar Rao had spent Rs 75 crores on temple’s development in Siddipet district alone. He said Chandrashekhar Rao had released Rs 3.60 crore on Konaipally temple development. The former minister said that the Congress government failed to release the funds granted by the BRS government, let alone allotting new grants.
