Jagtial: Jagtial police cracked the sensational triple murder case and arrested six accused involved in the murder. Rs 9.42 lakh, six knives used for the murder were recovered from the accused.
Producing the accused before media persons here on Sunday night, Jagtial DSP R Prakash informed that practice of sorcery and financial transactions were reasons for the murder.
Residents of Tarakaramanagar, Jagtial town, Jagannatham Nageshwar Rao (55), his sons Rambabu (30) and Ramesh (23) were murdered by their opponents on January 20.
Local residents, Vanam Durgaiah, Chinna Gangiah, Madhu, Vanam Pochaiah, Vanam Shekhar, Dasari Ramulu, Ballani Bhumaiah, Kadem Srinivas and others developed grudges against Nageshwar Rao and his sons as the latter were practicing sorcery during the last ten years, dictating terms in caste organization and crating troubles in septic tanks clearing business.
Deciding to eliminate Nageshwar Rao and his three sons, they attacked them with knives after completion of Erukala sangham meeting on January 20. While Nareshwar Rao, Rambabu and Ramesh were dead, another son Rajesh escaped from the spot.
Based on the complaint by the family members, police registered the case against 24 persons and launched a hunt for the accused by constituted five teams.
Cops arrested six accused Kadem Srinivas, Vanam Chinna Gangaiah, Chinna Durgaiah, Durgaprasad, Ballani Saraiah and Shekhar in a lodge in Kondagattu of Malyal mandal on Sunday. 18 others were absconding.
