Karimnagar: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has held the central government responsible for the shortfall of urea in Telangana.
The State government had already informed the Centre about the possibility of a urea shortage once the agricultural season began, and the details of the State’s requirements were also submitted.
“Despite repeated requests, the Union government has not supplied an adequate quantity of urea to the State. However, opposition parties are creating a ruckus, claiming that an artificial shortage was created,” the Minister said while addressing a press conference here on Friday.
On the water-sharing issue with Andhra Pradesh, Sridhar Babu made it clear that there was no question of compromising on Telangana’s water rights. The state would not allow Andhra Pradesh to construct any project under the pretext of utilizing surplus water.
Stating that Telangana would reject any project that could damage the state’s interests, he urged the central government to provide clarity on water sharing.
Demanding that the Union government approve Telangana’s projects, he said that both the BRS and BJP had wasted ten years.
Talking about the murder of advocate Vamana Rao and his wife, he said that the Supreme Court ordered a CBI investigation based on a request from the deceased’s father.
“Several influential persons were behind the advocate couple’s murder. I am confident that the real culprits will be exposed in the CBI investigation. I have been demanding this from the beginning,” he added.
