The fresh third plea has been filed by Mukesh Kumar, who claims to be a social worker, through lawyers Roopesh Singh Bhadauria and Mareesh Pravir Sahay
Advocate M.L. Sharma mentioned the plea for urgent listing before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud. The top court agreed to hear on February 6.
Reacting to it, Karnataka Education department maintained that since the screening did not take place in any of the schools or colleges, no action could be taken.
The documentary was originally broadcast in the United Kingdom last week but it quickly generated hype here prompting the Indian government to block it from being aired on Indian platforms.
The announcement, on its Facebook page, by DYFI comes in the wake of the Centre's directions to block multiple YouTube videos and Twitter posts sharing links to the documentary.
