In his statement, Chandrashekhar Rao hailed Basavanna as a visionary who defied caste, colour, and gender-based discrimination through both his teachings and his actions. He described Basaveshwara as a social reformer who championed equality and public welfare by blending spiritual wisdom with progressive governance. “His ideals transcend time and continue to inspire generations,” he remarked.

Accusations have been made that funds intended for public welfare were being diverted into private pockets. This claim is not solely from the BRS; over 200 contractors, who had not received payment for their bills unless they paid commissions, protested by storming the Finance Minister’s office in the Secretariat. They raised concerns about the prevalent commission culture, he said.
-
He stated that they were holding the establishment accountable and giving a voice to the voiceless. Expressing strong disapproval of the police's role in silencing them through case filings, he urged the police to take note that the BRS would be coming to power in the next elections.

Chandrashekhar Rao, emphasizing that the operation primarily focused in neighboring Chhattisgarh, condemned the massacre as unjust and "against dharma." He urged the Centre to halt the killings and instead invite the Maoists for peace talks to hear their concerns.
-
He recalled how, as if the local leaders were not enough, "duplicate" Gandhis arrived from New Delhi and promised Rs. 15,000 under Rythu Bandhu, a higher amount than what KCR was offering, and questioned what happened to that promise.

Speaking at the massive rally in Elkathurthy, he highlighted that Telangana, from its formation as a separate state, has evolved into a progressive region due to the tireless efforts of its leaders and the sacrifices of its people.
-
He recalled that even the word 'Telangana' was banned in the Assembly, with the Speaker issuing a ruling on the matter, while addressing the party's silver jubilee meeting at Elkakurthy. He emphasized that at every crucial moment, it was the BRS leaders who made personal sacrifices for the cause of Telangana.

Beginning by highlighting Telangana’s journey of growth since the BRS (formerly TRS) took office in 2014, Rao recalled how the State garnered numerous awards and achieved impressive progress across various sectors, including per capita income and GSDP.
-
Rao arrived at the venue by 6.30 pm and requested the crowd to rise and observe a moment of silence in honor of the 26 tourists who lost their lives in the terror attack. Only after this solemn tribute did he commence the proceedings of the meeting.
-
Rao accused the Congress of deceiving the public with false promises during the election campaign. Reflecting on the Congress's time in power over the past year and a half, the former minister stated that the people of the State now wanted BRS to return to power under the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.

Speaking to the media at the venue of Sunday’s massive public meeting, he said the rally was expected to attract huge crowds and highlight the party’s unwavering commitment to Telangana’s development. He stressed that the event would serve as a demonstration of the party’s dedication to the state's progress and the transformation it had achieved during its tenure.
-
Rama Rao shared photos and videos of the farmers' bullock cart rally on X, commending the determination and spirit of the farmers led by former Minister and senior MLA G Jagadish Reddy. He stated that their actions serve as an inspiration to Telangana's four crore people, protecting the state's interests and political identity.

The decision was formally declared by BRS working president KT Rama Rao following a meeting with party corporators, MLAs, and MLCs from Greater Hyderabad. The electoral college comprises 84 GHMC corporators, 15 MLAs, and two MPs from Hyderabad district. Polling will be held on April 23, with counting scheduled for April 25.

Following the Assembly elections, Gadwal MLA Krishnamohan Reddy switched allegiance from the BRS to the Congress. Since then, tensions have been high between his supporters and those of Saritha Tirupataiah, who had contested the elections on a Congress ticket.
-
“Mallikarjun Kharge was brought to Telangana, made grand promises to Dalits, and then left those commitments behind after securing their votes,” he said. “Where is the Rs 12 lakh promised under the Dalit Bandhu scheme? What happened to the Rs 6 lakh assured for house construction? And what about the land pattas and the 28 per cent quota in contracts for Dalits and tribals?”
-
It was the Congress party that lost public support within just a year, he said while addressing reporters on Friday. In general, opposition to a ruling party tends to build over two to two-and-a-half years, but in this case, the Congress has faced backlash within its first year, especially from rural communities discussing the government's failures.

With the latest additions, the total number of cases registered against Krishank has climbed to 21 within just 16 months of the Congress assuming power in Telangana. A majority of these FIRs are linked to his posts on X (formerly Twitter), which Krishank maintains are expressions of dissent, not criminal offenses.

Experts have raised concerns over the stagnation, calling it a troubling indicator of an economic slowdown under the Congress-led government. They caution that it points to a broader crisis affecting key sectors of the State’s economy. Telangana recorded a revenue of ₹5,401 crore in March 2025, compared to ₹5,399 crore in March 2024 — a marginal increase that has effectively stalled the growth momentum witnessed during the BRS regime.

Key leaders from the erstwhile districts of Khammam, Mahabubnagar, and Nalgonda took part in the meeting, which also saw the presence of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and other senior leaders. The session centered on planning for the upcoming celebrations and reinforcing the party’s reach throughout Telangana.
