The day-long shutdown called by opposition Telugu Desam Party to protest arrest of Chandrababu Naidu in an alleged skill development scam began in the state on Monday morning
Section 144, which forbids gatherings of four or more persons, will be in force in all mandals (blocks). The orders were apparently imposed to prevent any protest by the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The arguments which began around 6 a.m. were continuing for more than six hours. While the prosecution sought 15-day judicial custody of Naidu, the TDP leader's counsel opposed the same.

According to the remand report submitted to the court, the CID said Naidu was non-cooperative during interrogation and replied vaguely saying that he did not remember certain issues

The national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) asserts his innocence, stating that he hasn't committed any wrongdoing. He further claims that the CID officials apprehended him without presenting any clear evidence.
Varla Ramaiah, a member of the party politburo, questioned whether the CID officials who detained Chandrababu have any evidence or if the name of the TDP leader is even mentioned in the FIR.
