The GHMC said following a complaint regarding the appearance of a worm in Dal, an inspection was carried out at the establishment on Tuesday.

A special drive food safety inspections were carried out in government and private residential schools, colleges and hostels in the city, following the instructions issued by GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata on Wednesday.

They also found 20 to 25 types of cooked food items in the hotel.

The raids were conducted at Habeebnagar, Bhavaninagar, Chaderghat, Afzalgunj and Sultan Bazaar in the city.

Officials have directed managements of hotels, tiffin centres and other eateries in Zaheerabad town to obtain a trade license certificate from the civic body.
