Based on the pug marks found at the spot, forest officials confirmed that the calf was attacked and killed by a leopard.

The zoo said the big cat was relocated to its premises and kept in the veterinary hospital for observation.

The forest officials reached the spot and are making efforts to shift the animal to the Nehru Zoological Park where it will be kept for some time before a decision is taken on releasing it in the wild.
