NOTA secured 922 votes in the Jubilee Hills bypoll, as per results announced on Friday. Counting was held under tight security, and officials said NOTA votes were included from the first round. Returning Officer P Sairam confirmed the final NOTA count.
According to Returning Officer and Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, out of total 7,780 postal ballot votes, 414 votes were declared invalid due to various reasons.
Addressing a news conference, V Nagi Reddy, retired IAS officer and former State Election Commissioner said that many state election commissions had issued orders empowering NOTA.
