Over 60 women from 30 villages take part in the programme organised at DDS on the occasion of International Seed Day

Mandamarri Sub-Inspector Rajashekhar said Rajam, a 50-year-old daily wage earner from the KK5 filter bed area in the coal belt town, was apprehended for growing cannabis plants around his house.

Women members of DDS, who turned into seed conservators over the years, have come up with a variety of seeds. As many as 43 seed conservators from 25 villages have participated in the programme.  They have displayed 80 varieties of seeds.

He directed them to provide shade and watering facilities to nurture the saplings in the nurseries in view of sweltering heat wacondtioins.
