According to the police, 70-year-old Pochamma, a widow, and her daughter Rajamma, members of a nomadic community from Chunnambattiwada, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. They were promptly taken to a hospital in the town, where Pochamma succumbed to her injuries during treatment, while Rajamma remains in critical condition, fighting for her life.
