Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad has appointed Pat Cummins as their captain for the 2024 Indian Premier League season, replacing Aiden Markram. Cummins, who won the World Test Championship and the Ashes, will join SRH’s new head coach, Daniel Vettori.  

Sunrisers Hyderabad, the IPL 2016 winners, will open its IPL 2024 campaign on March 23 against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, followed by playing its first home match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 27 against five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

As per a report in Cricbuzz, Steyn is said to have asked the franchise about a break from the coaching role he has at SRH for this year

City-based IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Mumbai Indians on March 27 and Chennai Super Kings on April 5 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal.
