Telangana doctor appointed as member of Arizona Medical Board

“It’s an honour to be appointed to the board being an Indian NRI doctor,” Dr. Shiva Kumar, who did his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad in 2007, said.

Hyderabad: Senior doctor from Kodangal, Vikarabad district, Dr. Shiva Kumar Y Gosi, who is current Chair of Department of Medicine at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona, United States, has been appointed as the member of the Arizona Medical Board by the Governor of Arizona, USA.

“It’s an honour to be appointed to the board being an Indian NRI doctor,” Dr. Shiva Kumar, who did his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad in 2007, said.

After completing MBBS, Dr. Shiva Kumar pursued Masters in Public Health and MD from East Tennessee State University in USA and has been working as a Hospitalist i.e. a licensed physician, since 2013.

In the appointment letter to Dr. Shiva Kumar, the Governor of Arizona, Douglas A Ducey said “On behalf of The State of Arizona, thank you for agreeing to be appointed to the Arizona Medical Board. One of the satisfactions of holding the office is the opportunity to recognise outstanding citizens by naming them to positions of leadership within our state government”.
