Hyderabad: In a student friendly move, the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2026 centres will be equipped with diabetic kits to support students, particularly those suffering from diabetes or other ailments, during the examination.
The kits, which include items such as chocolates, biscuits, Glucon-D powder and ORS sachets, will be made available in each of the centres. So far, no such provision is available for the common entrance tests conducted by the State government.
“Some students rush to centres without having food and they feel dizzy and weak during the examination. In addition, some students suffer from diabetes. Keeping in view of student’s welfare, we have decided to keep diabetic kits in all exam centres,” Prof. K Vijaya Kumar Reddy, Convener TG EAPCET 2026, told ‘Telangana Today’.
The National Testing Agency, which conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG, has been allowing diabetic students to carry eatables like a fruit or chocolate and transparent water bottles. However, such students are required to give prior intimation.
As decided earlier, the TG EAPCET 2026 notification will be issued on February 14, with online submission of applications without a late fee open from February 19 to April 4. The EAPCET will be conducted between May 4 and 11, with AP test scheduled for May 4 and 5, and engineering entrance test from May 9 to 11.
According to Dr. Reddy, this time the State has been divided into 16 test zones for holding the TG EAPCET and Siddipet district has been added as the new test zone.
Further, the registration process is being made simpler. Until now, EAPCET applications could be submitted online only through computers and laptops. However, from this year, students can register via their smartphones as well. The website is being made smartphone compatible, he said.
Another major change this year will be the display of scores on the computer screen immediately after the examination. Students can check their subject-wise (Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) scores, which will be based on the preliminary check. Further, TG EAPCET’s last two years rank bands will be hosted on the website. This will enable students to ascertain their rank based on the preliminary key.
