He said for the 2021-22 financial year, the Centre had set a target of 13.75 crore person days for Telangana. So far, the State has achieved 13.38 person days well in advance before the closure of current financial year. “Telangana has got approval for another two crore person days,” said Dayakar Rao here on Tuesday. The Minister released Additional Project Officers Association calendar at his camp office here.
Addressing on the occasion, so far, Rs 2, 374 crore have been deposited as wages into the accounts of workers across the State. In addition to this, Rs 1,049 crore has been released as material component for execution of different works, he said.
The increase in person days in the State can be attributed to many factors. Under Palle Pragathi programme, several works, including digging of pits for plantation drives, are being taken up. These apart, the NREGS workers are involved in desiltation and feeder channel improvement works.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision and guidance and effective implementation of initiatives by the PR and RD department employees, APOs have helped Telangana to top in implementation in MGNREGS, he added.
