Hyderabad: Training institutions in Telangana are still unsure about digital adoption for conducting their operations. According to a study by Hyderabad-based Skill Monks, only 156 training institutes (about 22.2 per cent) out of the 700 surveyed were willing to adopt automation and digital solutions, which means 544 that is about 77.7 per cent are still in the wait and watch mode.

Out of the 156 showing interest to adopt automation and digital solutions, about 49 (approximately 31.4 per cent) are in the advanced stage of discussion to automate and digitise coaching operations.

These numbers are in tandem with the nation-wide sentiment wherein 24 per cent of training institutes were ready to adopt automation and digital solutions to integrate their current business operations while 76 per cent are still to tap into the potential of virtual coaching, the report states.

The interest to automate coaching will ensure continuity in training students, who are pursuing education in their current streams, to acquire fresh skills in information technology, digital marketing and also help those preparing for competitive exams, higher exam preparation and government job preparation. The training institutes that were willing to make this shift were from cities across India including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Visakhapatnam, Kanpur and Lucknow.

Unlike many schools and institutions in the education sector, training institutes do not have any automation capabilities to alter their mode of operations. Another key factor that attributes to this resistance is the anticipation of the current situation getting resolved soon, due to which the institutes are unwilling to invest on digitisation.
