Peddapalli: Irrigation officials lifted water from the Yellampalli project on Sunday by operating a motor at the Nandi Medaram pump house in Dharmaram mandal to irrigate paddy fields under the Flood Flow Canal (FFC) project.
Acting on the State government’s instructions, the officials drew 0.15 tmc of water from the Yellampalli reservoir.
Water lifting began at 7.30 am with the operation of the fifth motor, pushing 3,150 cusecs into the Nandi reservoir. From there, an equal volume was transferred to the Gayatri pump house in Ramadugu mandal through two under-tunnels.
Subsequently, the sixth motor at the Gayatri pump house pumped the water into the Flood Flow Canal. Following directives from the government, the operation was halted at 5.55 pm.
A total of 0.15 tmc of water was lifted over 10.5 hours, according to Irrigation Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE) Narsinga Rao.
