Warangal: All arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Kazipet Dargah Urs celebrations, MLA Vinay Bhaskar said here on Sunday. The MLA urged the people to follow the Covid-19 protocol during the celebrations.
Addressing a press conference along with the management and coordinating committee of the Dargah – Hazrath Syed Afzal Biyabani, directed the authorities of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) to ensure cleanliness at the Dargah premises during the celebrations as about one lakh devotees from several States likely to participate in the festivities. “We have asked the police to keep a close watch on the traffic of the vehicles besides arranging the barricades to regulate the devotees in the queue lines,” he added.
Meanwhile, head of Dargah Khusro Pasha said that the Dargah was a famous pilgrim place not only for the Muslims but also for the others. “We have taken all steps for the peaceful conduct of the festivities for the benefit of each devotee,” he added.
As a part of the festivities, a procession of Sandal will be held from Bada Ghar at 11 pm on Monday and reach the Dargha Shareef at 1 am on the next day. Urs-E-Shareer will be offered at the holy shrine by Syed Ghulam Afza Biabanbi alias Khusro Pasha at pm on Tuesday.
Hazrat Syed Shah Afzal Biabani was born in 1795 CE at Kazipet Jagir of Hyderabad State. “He was a saint (Vali Allah) by birth. His mother said that there was something extraordinary in him right from childhood,” said Khusro Pasha.
“He used to go to the hills of Papannapet in Medak District of Hyderabad state to invoke the name of Allah, pray and meditate. Thus, he glorified Allah the Almighty day and night. At the age of 28 years, he reportedly left for the hills of Medak and came back to Kazipet, where he continued worship (Namaz), invocation (Zikr) and meditation (Muraqiba) at the Bhattupally hills (not far from Kazipet village) by renouncing the world,” according to a legend.
