Hyderabad: The State unit of Congress party took out a rally in the city on Thursday in protest against Enforcement Directorate questioning Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in connection with National Herald case.

The rally was conducted from Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regional office in Basheerbagh.

Addressing on the occasion, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy charged that the BJP Government reopened the National Herald case as the Congress party was raising issues, including national security, rising prices of essential commodities and others in the Parliament. It was a ploy by the BJP Government to divert the people’s attention from these issues, he said.

CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka said the BJP Government was using central probe agencies, especially ED to corner leaders from opposition parties. The monsoon session of Parliament was under progress and the BJP Government was making the MPs attend enquiries. This never happened in the past, he said
At a time, when the BJP was instigating differences among people through its divisive politics, Congress was striving to save democracy and was conducting Bharat Jodo Yatra, the CLP leader said.
