CT scan machine inaugurated at Govt District Hospital in Khammam
The CT scan machine manufactured by Canon Medical Systems and worth Rs 2.15 crore was inaugurated by Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Tuesday.

Khammam: An ultra-modern computerized tomography (CT) scan machine has been installed at Government District Headquarters Hospital here to offer quality diagnosis services to the patients coming to the hospital.
The CT scan machine manufactured by Canon Medical Systems and worth Rs 2.15 crore was inaugurated by Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Tuesday. Rs 1 crore has been earmarked for five years of maintenance of the equipment.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion he informed that the necessity of a CT scan at the hospital was taken to the notice of Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao and he responded promptly by sanctioning the equipment to the hospital.
Ajay Kumar explained that the newly installed Ct-scan would play a key role in the diagnosis of Covid-19 and several other diseases. After the formation of separate Telangana, the District Hospital was equipped with state-of-art equipment to ensure quality medical services to the patients coming to the hospital from across Khammam and neighbouring districts.
The bed capacity has been increased to 500, with the help of KCR Kits normal deliveries at Maternal and Child Health (MCH) wing of the District Hospital increased while caesarean sections have come down fully.
Every bed at the District Hospital is now equipped with medical oxygen as a liquid oxygen generation plant was recently installed on the hospital premises. Likewise, Telangana Diagnostic Centre was set up to provide quality diagnostic services to the patients in the district, he noted.
ZP Chairman L Kamalraj, Mayor P Neeraja, District Collector VP Gautham, DM&HO Dr. B Malathi, hospital superintendent Dr. B Venkateshwarlu and others were present.
