Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan on Monday instructed the principals of government and private degree colleges in Khammam to see that final year students enroll their names in IT Hub app.
He informed that the mobile app has been launched recently in order to keep the graduates informed about the developments happening at the Khammam IT Hub, which was inaugurated by IT Minister K T Rama Rao in last December.
Karnan held a meeting here on Monday with the officials of government educational institutions and representatives of private institutions to review their preparedness for the reopening of schools and colleges on Feb1.
He said it was planned to offer job skills training through the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to non-engineering graduates. Hence the degree college principals should encourage the students to download the app and register their names.
Karnan told the education department officials, headmasters and the principals to strictly adhere to the covid-19 guidelines issued by the State government while running classes after Feb 1. No school should be allowed to run classes below the ninth standard.
Care must be taken to ensure that the student strength in each class should be limited to 20. A written consent from the parents of the students should be obtained allowing their children to attend the classes. Every student should be made to wear the face mask, he noted.
Cleaning and sanitation works have to be carried out in every school and college. Clean drinking water has to be made available for the students and in government run hostels fresh and healthy food should be offered as per the menu, Karnan said,
A team of officials would be making surprise inspections at the schools and colleges. If any institute was found to be violating the guidelines stringent action would be initiated such institutes, he warned.
The health department would organise medical camps to monitor the health condition of the students, he added. DEO, Madanmohan, DM&HO Dr. B Malathi, Board of Intermediate Education official KS Roy, DPO , V Prabhakar Rao and others were present.
