Kothagudem: In an interesting criminal plot, a married woman planned a robbery in her in-laws’ house along with her father and son and hired novices to do the job, but the plot botched up as they were caught even before executing the plan.
The woman in question, Mohammed Israth along with her husband Abdul Rasool lived with her in-laws, Mohammad Isa and Farhah Sultana at Dammapet centre at Paloncha in the district.
Isa, a KTPS employee, retired from service recently. But Sultana was neither revealing the details of retirement benefits Isa received nor giving any money to her husband or to her. Upset over this, Israth planned to loot the money and valuables stashed in an almirah in their house.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Paloncha DSP Sathish Kumar said that during the wee hours of the day, Paloncha SI, K Suman and staff who were on night patrolling spotted some suspicious persons present in two cars near Jammula Garden at Dammapet centre.
When they searched them, police found a knife, two iron rods and four monkey caps in their possession. During questioning, they confessed to the police that they had come to steal money from Sultana. They were prepared to kill them if anyone interfered and loot the money.
They revealed that Israth, her son Mohammed Abdul Wajid (Sultana’s grandson) and Israth’s father Mohammad Osman plotted the robbery. Osman, who works as a mason at Jangaon, had allegedly gathered his eight accomplices from Hyderabad, Siddipet, Jangaon and other places to do the job.
They were caught while conducting a recce at Isa’s house. The accused, Osman, Abdul Wajid, G Krishna, Taduri Dasu, Isakanti Emmanuel and Podisetty Praveen, Yerra Kanaka Raju, Bandarapu Nagaraju and K Ganesh were sent to judicial remand. Israth was absconding, the DSP said.
