Kothagudem: District Collector Anudeep Durishetty has asked the headmasters of government schools in the district to make efforts to record 100 percent results in ensuing SSC examinations. He held a preparatory meeting with headmasters and education officials here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion he informed that as many as 13, 419 students from 328 High Schools would be appearing for 10th class examinations in Kothagudem district.
The next 45 days would be crucial for the students preparing for the exams. Besides conducting slip tests, teachers and headmasters have to motivate and train the students to overcome examination fear, Durishetty suggested. Students lagging behind in studies have to be adopted by the teachers and monitor their preparation regularly. Group discussions on subjects have to be conducted so as to help the students retain what they learnt and to perform well in the exams, he noted.
Special classes have to be conducted every evening. Proposals should be submitted to serve evening snacks to the students attending the special classes, the Collector told the DEO E Somashekhara Sarma. “Teachers could only shape the student’s future. Teachers should shoulder the responsibility of guiding the students to become better citizens, in addition to improving their learning skills to excel in studies” Durishetty averred.
Sharing his experiences with students, the Collector explained to them how he prepared for the Civil Services Examination and said a well planned approach was a must to excel in studies as well as to perform effectively in exams. He informed that there were around 325 school dropouts in the age group of 6-14 years. Special measures have to be taken to enroll them into the schools. He appreciated the MEOs of Karakagudem, Yellandu, Tekulapalli, Dammapet, Manugur and Pinapaka mandals where students attendance was good.
Later the Collector presented mementoes and certificates to students who won prizes in essay writing, drawing and Kala Utsav organised sometime back on Swachh Pakhwada and Voters Day.
