Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud appealed to the Union Ministry of Tourism to sanction Rs 5015.06 lakh under Prasad Scheme to Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, Manyamkonda, for provision of basic amenities at the temple.
The Minister met Ministry of Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and pointed out that Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Manyamkonda was an old and historic temple and many devotees from different places visit the temple.
Later, the Minister met Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Secretary A Giridhar and appealed to him to permit Mahabubnagar district administration execute the central median works on the SVS Medical College to One Town police station route covering a distance of eight km.
The National Highways Authority of India is executing four-lane works from Jadcherla to Mahabubnagar, covering 16 km. However, as per the NHAI guidelines, the central median height was less.
The eight kilometers route passes through Mahabubnagar from SVS Medical College to one town police station and since the central median height was not enough, there was scope for accidents, he said.
To avoid this, the Minister appealed to Giridhar to permit the central median works on the route to be taken up by Mahabubnagar district administration and facilitate increasing the central median height to ensure safety of road users.
