Ayodhya: Ram Lalla will embark on a special chariot and take a round of Ayodhya in a massive procession before the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in January 2024.

This is a part of the elaborate plans that the Temple Trust has drawn up for the week-long events. The event will be conducted under the supervision of scholars from Kashi.

Trust member Kameshwar Choupal said: “Before the consecration event, the Saryu will be worshiped, and the new idol of Lord Rama will be anointed with its water. Then the idol will be taken on a city tour in a chariot and after this, the idol of Ram Lalla will be kept with water, fruits and food grains for one day each.”

Choupal said that the consecration ceremony will be celebrated in 4 lakh temples across the country.

“In these temples, special prayers will be held and foods will be distributed. On the main day, when the idol will be installed, amid recitation of the Ramayana and other religious activities, the event will be telecast live for crores of devotees to see this historic moment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the first ‘Ram Stambh’ pillar reached Ayodhya from Rameswaram in a special vehicle decorated with flowers on Monday.

It will be installed at the Mani Parvat temple here, followed by 290 Ram pillars to be installed at major places between the two temple towns that cover the exile path of Lord Ram.

The installation of all ‘Ram Stambh’ pillars will be done by VHP’s Ashok Singhal Foundation.
