Government Pleader informs court that government hospitals are duly admitting and treating the patients without mandatorily insisting on producing Aadhaar

The incident took place on June 4, with the three individuals identified as Kasim, Monis, and Soyeb.

Officials identified the two as Sachin Mani Tripathi, a resident of Deoria, and Shivanand Verma of Lucknow. They were arrested near Lekhraj market in the UP state capital.

There was no need for any certificates other than ration and Aadhaar cards to attach with Praja Palana applications, said the programme nodal officer for erstwhile Khammam district, M Raghunandan Rao.

At a few centres, officials distributed the forms free of cost but instructed the people to present local residence identification proof.

The illegal immigrants also managed to get Aadhaar cards, ration cards and other government identity cards.

Collector C Narayana Reddy has urged people to update and revalidate their Aadhaar card to avail welfare scheme benefits.
