BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has declared a statewide movement to protect Telangana’s water rights, accusing the Congress government, the BJP-led Centre, and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu of conspiring against the State’s interests.
BRS leader criticized Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy for not understanding the facts and continuing to criticize Chandrashekhar Rao, which he said only made people laugh.
He emphasized that this was major victory for the BRS regime which has consistently advocated for water allocation based on states rather than projects
CM Revanth Reddy advised the officials to present arguments in the Supreme Court that there should be no interference of Godavari and Krishna boards until the water sharing was completed by the Tribunal
The Brijesh Kumar Tribunal is expected to take a call on the plea of the State to resume the hearing as per the fresh terms of references on November 22.
Andhra Pradesh has been opposing the decision of the Centre to task the Tribunal with the new responsibility as well as the further terms of reference (ToR).
