Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has busted a nationwide spurious drug racket, uncovering a fake manufacturing unit and seizing counterfeit Schedule-H medicines worth over Rs 2.3 crore. Two accused have been arrested, and further raids are underway

Prohibition and Excise officials, along with the Narcotics Task Force, raided the Musheerabad residence of city-based doctor John Paul and seized narcotics worth Rs 3 lakh. The doctor allegedly let his home be used for drug sales in exchange for free drugs.

In a joint operation, Hyderabad police arrested two individuals involved in an MDMA drug racket, seizing narcotics and electronic gadgets worth Rs 5.5 lakh. The accused sourced drugs from a Bahrain-based supplier using WhatsApp and distributed them via dead drops in Bengaluru.

Eleven Bengaluru police personnel, including an inspector, were suspended for allegedly colluding with drug peddlers. Investigations revealed they collected “protection money” and partied with the peddlers, enabling them to sell banned sedative tablets freely. A departmental inquiry is in progress.

The gang was transporting narcotic substances from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh to Hyderabad, intending to sell them to consumers at higher prices. Acting on a tip-off, the SOT and local police intercepted the drug-laden vehicles and apprehended the offenders.

Officials seized 100 grams of heroin, cash and mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 12 lakh.

The Chotuppal police also arrested two ganja peddlers related to the drug syndicate

Rachakonda Special Operations Team seized 380 kilos of marijuana, 4 cars, 9 mobile phones and other material, altogether worth Rs.1.15 crore.

Cops seized 3.1 kg of ephedrine, 23 SIM cards, 12 fraudulently obtained Aadhaar cards and six mobile phones from them

The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) along with the Osmania University Police on Friday announced the arrest of John Stephen D’Souza, the kingpin in the Hyderabad-Goa drug racket which was busted last month.

Officials said the drugs were purchased on dark web using crypto currency. Three cases were booked, one each in Humayun Nagar, Chaderghat and Jubilee Hills.
