Fifty people who were trapped in a building that caught fire at Mailardevpally were rescued by the fire personnel on Sunday morning. Among those rescued are 16 children aged below 15 years
The fire broke out at the first floor of a three storied building located at Afzalgunj and soon spread to the upper two floors of the building. Two families were trapped in the building and came into the balcony as the fire was rapidly spreading.
As per available information, the incident occurred when one of the huts caught fire due to gas leakage. Alerted by this, residents in the huts adjacent to it rushed out of the houses to safety. The incident created a panic situation in the vicinity
