Prime Minister Modi sanctioned Rs 669 crore within four days after Karnataka witnessed floods recently. In 2017, he personally visited Gujarat during floods and released Rs 500 crore.
The cheque for Rs.1 crore was handed over to MA&UD Minister, KT Rama Rao by Errabelli Pradeep Rao, president of Telangana Poultry Federation along with general secretary Mohan Reddy.
During the next 10 days, all the MLAs should inspect the situation in the rain-affected areas and monitor relief and rescue operations, the Minister said.
As per official information, till Friday, as many as 40,036 people were shifted to safer places in four districts, including over 32,500 in Solapur and over 6,000 in Pune.
A total of 111 villages in four districts have been affected by the floods, caused by heavy rains and water released by the dams in neighbouring Maharashtra.
