NEET-qualified students from five districts in Telangana—Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal, and Hyderabad—face greatly reduced chances of securing MBBS/BDS seats in government medical colleges. According to GO-33, these students, despite being born in Telangana, will now be classified as non-locals.
The Commissioner of Collegiate Education/ Commissioner of Technical Education/Director of Intermediate Education will announce the schedule from July 16 to July 31 for affecting these transfers, the GO said.
From this year onwards, these additional seats, which is equal to establishing nearly 18 medical colleges (each with 100 medical seats), will be available to students.
