Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao dismissed allegations surrounding the Miss World pageant as opposition propaganda. He clarified spending figures and denied wrongdoing, while admitting an internal enquiry had taken place. The state claims the Miss World organisation is handling the issue.
In her statement, Sabitha Indra Reddy accused the Congress government of tarnishing the reputation of Telangana and India on the global stage. Citing Milla Magee’s allegations of being pressured to "please middle-aged men" and "treated like a prostitute," she demanded that the government take responsibility and reveal who was behind the alleged misconduct.
Taking to X, Rama Rao, personally apologised to Magee for her experience. "You are a very strong woman, Milla Magee, and I am truly sorry you had to go through this in our State of Telangana," he said
