BRS MLC K Kavitha and MP R Krishnaiah have announced a united front for the July 17 Rail Roko protest, demanding Presidential assent for 42% BC reservations passed by the Telangana Assembly. The leaders called for public support and BC unity.
Krishnaiah, elected to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh on a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) ticket in 2022, submitted his resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in New Delhi, which was accepted. Mallu Ravi, the Congress MP from Nagarkurnool, met with Krishnaiah and reportedly invited him to join the Congress party.
In an open letter to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Krishnaiah urged him to ensure that Telangana government implements 42 percent reservations for the Backward Classes in the upcoming Panchayat Raj institutions elections.
In a five page letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday, Krishnaiah highlighted the state of unregulated and arbitrary fees being collected by private colleges in the State.
