On the second day of the yatra's Madhya Pradesh leg, Rahul Gandhi started the foot march from Borgaon in Khandwa district.

The yatra today resumed after a two-day break from Boderli village in the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in its Maharashtra leg. Before entering Maharashtra, the Yatra has already covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

The yatra, which has been passing through Maharashtra since November 7, resumed the day's journey from Balapur in Akola district around 6 am and reached Shegaon a few hours later, where Tushar Gandhi, an author and activist, joined it.

The yatra began at 6 am from a Zilla Parishad school at Kupta in Balapur. It will reach Shegaon during its morning break, where the Congress leader will visit the famous Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj temple.

The foot march, which began at 6 am from Jambhrun Phata, will proceed to Medshi village in the evening and will take a night halt at Patur in Akola district.

The Congress leader had also targeted the state and Central governments over the shifting of mega projects like the Vedanta-Foxconn and the Tata Airbus from Maharashtra to poll-bound Gujarat.

More than 55 lakh voters in the hill state will decide the fate of 412 candidates in 68 assembly constituencies.

Thackeray is scheduled to join the foot march around 4 pm along with Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Council Ambadas Danve and Sena legislator Sachin Ahir, the Congress has said.

The former Union minister said with the ongoing foot march "the countdown has started" for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Telangana and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

Touching several villages en route his yatra, Gandhi walked across Andole-Jogipet twin towns.

The Yatra resumed from Patancheru on the city outskirts Thursday morning and it will halt at Sivampet in Sangareddy district for the night, Congress sources said.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Laxman stated that though Rahul Gandhi paid homage to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's statue installed at Necklace Road, he did not pay tributes to Narasimha Rao, who is considered one of the tallest leaders of Telangana.

According to party leaders, Raut was moving towards the stage at Charminar, from where Rahul Gandhi was resuming his yatra, but before he could reach the venue, the police started pushing people to make way for Rahul and in the melee Raut lost his balance and fell down sustaining minor injuries.

Bhatt, the first noted Bollywood celebrity to have joined the Yatra, was seen walking with Gandhi while having a discussion with him.

Gandhi will attend a corner meeting at Muthangi before halting for the night, the party sources said. This is the eighth day of the party's campaign in the state.
