During a vehicle inspection, Burgampad police arrested six persons who were smuggling ganja in three cars and seized 247.28 kg of ganja worth Rs 61.82 lakh in the district on Friday.
Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju informed that naxals, Pottam Raju and OyamPandu of Chhattisgarh, Punem Chukki of Mulugu district and sympathiser Shyamala Mukesh of Dameratogu were caught during a combing operation in the forest area.
The water level reached 43.60 feet at 8 pm with a discharge of 9, 60, 541 cusecs and forecast indicates further rise in the water level, said district Collector Jithesh V Patil.
