According to Captain Shashi Kiran CPRO-North Western Railway, the stoppage was due to the placing of some ballast on the track and of two rods, of one foot each, in the joggle plate of the track.
"The Kacheguda-Yeswantpur Vande Bharat will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual ceremony from Delhi on September 24. According to railway officials, commercial operations will begin the following day."
According to Southern Railway, the three trains are: Dr MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru-Dr MGR Chennai Central, Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram Central- Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Central.
Railway officials said the incident occurred near Vatakara between 4 PM and 4.30 PM. The window of the C-8 coach of the train was damaged in the incident, officials said.
The train was stopped at Manubolu after the loco pilot was alerted by the staff. Passengers de-boarded the train in panic. The railway staff found smoke emanating from the toilet in one of the coaches.
Other trains that will be delayed include the 112842 MG AR–Chennai Central–Shalimar Coromandel Express, which is scheduled to depart at 7:00 AM but will now depart at 10:30 AM
