The tragic incident took place when a truck, reportedly driven recklessly and negligently, ran over a group of vegetable vendors selling their goods by the roadside. Four people were confirmed dead at the scene, while at least 10 others sustained injuries in the accident.

As part of the Karimnagar Smart City program, the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar set up underground dustbins two years ago to keep the roads clean and prevent garbage from being scattered. A total of 14 dustbins were planned for installation across six locations, with an investment of Rs. 1 crore. However, dustbins were only installed at three of these locations.
