Rajanna Sircilla: Tanks, ponds, rivulets and other water bodies in the district were overflowing on Thursday following the incessant rains lashing the district in the past three days.
While roads were damaged in some places, road connectivity to many villages was disrupted as flood water was overflowing in many places. Alert district administration arranged warning boards on either side of the roads and deployed police and revenue officials to monitor the situation regularly.
The road leading to Jagadamba thanda of Ghambiraopet mandal was damaged due to heavy floods in a local rivulet. District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar visited the spot and instructed officials to take steps to lay a temporary road immediately.
Later, the Collector visited Narmala Upper Manair reservoir which recorded huge inflows. He instructed local Tahsildhar, MPDO, and irrigation officials to be on alert and monitor the situation regularly by staying at the field level.
He also instructed officials to set up warning boards in areas where roads were damaged and water was overflowing onto the roads. The Collector also inspected a rivulet overflowing on the road and disrupting connection between Ghambiraopet-Lingannapet.
Connectivity to Gaidigutta thanda of Rudrangi mandal and Manala is also disturbed as local stream Thathamma vagu is overflowing.
Mulavagu passing through Vemulwada temple town is flowing at high.
Nakkavagu of Hanumajipet of Vemulawada rural mandal is also overflowing. Local police arranged stoppers either side of the rivulet preventing the traffic. DSP Chandrashekhar visited Nakkavagu and instructed police and revenue staff to monitor the situation frequently.
Jadi Malkapur waterfall comes alive
Sangareddy: Following heavy rains in upstream areas in Karnataka, Jadi Malkapur waterfall came alive on Thursday morning. The waterfall, located at Jadimalkapur village in Mogudampally Mandal, witnessed heavy inflows from upstream since Wednesday. Since Sangareddy district has been receiving continuous rains, not many tourists, except from the neighbouring villages, could visit the waterfall on Thursday.
