Hyderabad: Putting the State government in a spot of bother, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said the State government’s agreements with Adani Group would be reconsidered and reviewed, if the group’s irregularities were unearthed.
If the agreements signed by the State government with Adani Group were legal and as per rules, they would continue. If they were against the law, then they would be cancelled, he stressed.
At Davos, the State government had signed about Rs.45,000 crore worth deals, including those with Adani Group. The State government has not allotted even a single inch of land to Adani Group, he said while addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday.
The TPCC president said it was a fact Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani had met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and donated Rs.100 crore for Skills University.
“Adani did not give donations to Revanth Reddy’s own pocket. If BRS working president KT Rama Rao also donates Rs.50 crore or Rs.100 crore we will also accept,” Mahesh Kumar Goud said, stressing that donations were given for public purpose.
“Revanth Reddy has got clarity. If Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is making a statement on any issue, Revanth Reddy and we all follow the same line,” Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Taking a dig at BRS government, the TPCC president further alleged that in the past, Adani Group conducted its operations in the State and money was offered to individuals. Unlike in the past, the donations were received on record by the Chief Minister, he stressed.
As demanded by Rahul Gandhi a thorough investigation has to be conducted on Adani Group’s irregularities. Irrespective of designations, action should be initiated accordingly on the individuals, Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
The Congress party has been demanding the union government to constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Adani Group irregularities.
Once the JPC report was constituted and its report was made public, Adani would be sent jail and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have to resign. This apart, all the irregularities involving the State government, if any would also be exposed, he stressed.
