Pallavi Model School, Boduppal organised a virtual session with Swami Bodhamayananda, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, on the theme ‘Change your mind and change your life’ recently. All teachers of Pallavi Group of Schools were enlightened to become a better teacher and better guru.
Principal T Tanuja welcomed and introduced the eminent speaker to the teachers. Swami ji started the session with shlokas and prayer for society to move towards positivity. He narrated the event of ‘Samudra Manthan’ and said what poison for the world was, became an ornament for Lord Shiva and therefore he is called Neelkanth. He also explained that in today’s society we are experiencing poison in the form of global warming, environmental pollution, lust, crime, dishonestly and so on. Given this, the teachers need not be just a communicator but an educator.
He also explained the importance of striking the right balance between internal nature and external nature. He also exemplified the methods of accomplishing it through Karma Yoga (work), Bhakti Yoga (worship), Dhyan Yoga (psychic control), or philosophy. He used several examples in the form of video and PPTs during the session to explain how we can practice yoga and meditation to become more mindful.
He read out several shlokas to enlighten teachers with the teachings of upanishads. He wanted the teachers to assume the school as a temple and learnings as prasadam. He also emphasied on the fact that all of us are Vyakti (person) and we must work towards the upliftment of our ‘Vyaktitva’. He quoted the learnings from Swami Vivekananda, i.e., ‘It is our mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us. The whole world is in our minds.”
A brief question-and-answer session followed. At the same time, in answering the questions, the speaker mentioned the importance of the emblem of Ramakrishna Math which was proposed by Swami Vivekananda.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the principal. She expressed gratitude towards the speaker for an enlightening session and for sharing his words of wisdom.
