Khammam: An octogenarian Shaik Hussain Sahab had never expected that his experience at the registration office would be so pleasant and easy.
“In my 75 years of life, I have never have seen anything happen so simply and in such a well organised manner at a government office,” he said after he made a gift deed in the name of his daughter at Penubally tahsildar/joint registrar’s office recently.
Hussain Sahab, who hails from VM Banjara of Penubally mandal, owns agriculture land at Bayyannagudem in the mandal. He made a gift deed for two acres of land in his daughter Shaik Jaheerunnisa Begum’s name and the tahsildar M Rama Devi processed the transaction.
“We did not pay any extra money to anyone. We booked the slot on our own at home on Thursday and did not visit Meeseva to do so. It just took around 20 minutes to get our pattadar book print on Friday,” she said in an interaction with the District Collector RV Karnan, who inspected the office on the day.
“When we bought the land some years back, it was a lengthy and rather tedious process with all sorts of unwanted experiences like paying money to the staff. But now, thanks to the State government, the process with Dharani portal is unbelievably simple,” Hussain Sahab told Telangana Today.
The Collector who interacted with the public, enquired whether the operators at Meeseva centres were collecting extra money for slot booking. He said all the tahsildars in Khammam district were directed to monitor Meeseva centres and take action if anyone was found collecting extra money for slot booking.
