Farmer electrocuted while hanging aluminium reels on live wire in Peddapalli
A farmer in Peddapalli district lost his life after being electrocuted while attempting to hang aluminium reels on electric wires to protect his paddy crop. The incident occurred in Kothapalli village of Dharmaram mandal. Unaware of the conductive nature of aluminium, Bhukya Mallesh Naik died instantly when the reel made contact with a waterlogged area.

Peddapalli: A 47-year-old farmer, Bhukya Mallesh Naik, was electrocuted while arranging aluminium reels in his fields at Kothapalli village of Dharmaram mandal on Sunday.
Villagers said Mallesh Naik, who owned a small plot and rented additional land for paddy cultivation, had intended to protect his crop from birds by hanging aluminium reels on the electric wires passing through his fields.
On Sunday, he took the reels to the fields and attempted to throw one over an electric wire, tying a stone to one end while holding the other. As the reel passed over the wire, one end fell into a waterlogged area of the field while the other remained in his hand. He received an electric shock and died instantly.
He was unaware that aluminium is a conductor of electricity. Mallesh Naik is survived by his wife, Sunitha, two daughters, and a son.
Police visited the scene, registered a case, and shifted the body to Karimnagar district headquarters for postmortem.
