Nalgonda: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday said Congress candidate K Jana Reddy, who let down the people of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency during his long tenure as MLA and Minister, has no moral right to ask the people for votes again in the April 17 by-election.
Several leaders from the Congress party joined the TRS at a programme held at Gurrampode in Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency in the presence of Srinivas Yadav and Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Yadav said that Jana Reddy, who represented Nagarjuna Sagar constituency, should first speak about his contribution to the development of the area before asking for votes.
“The farmers of tail-end ayacut of the left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Project were denied irrigation facility till 2014. After the formation of Telangana State, the TRS government has been providing irrigation facility to every acre of land under the ayacut of NSP left canal for two crops,” he added.
He reminded that the farmers, who took up cultivation under borewells, were also faced losses due to power cuts. But, now the TRS government was extending 24 hours free electricity to the agricultural pump sets in the state. In one word, all the problems of the farmers met the solution in the TRS government, he added. He pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was striving to turn the saying farmer is king into reality. The investment support scheme Rythu Bandhu was a brainchild of the Chief Minister, he maintained.
Stating that the TRS government was committed to the welfare of all sections of the people, he listed out the welfare schemes of Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarakh and hike in Aasara pensions. He alleged that the earlier Congress government has neglected the welfare of the people, which created hardship for the poor. He asked the voters of the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency to support TRS in the by-elections.
