Sangareddy: Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao received another threat call from suspected Maoists on Sunday, even as he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital following leg surgery. The MP reportedly received calls from two different phone numbers.
The caller, suspected to be a Maoist operative, warned that five teams had been deployed to trace and assassinate Raghunandan. The teams, he claimed, were acting on the instructions of the Andhra Pradesh committee leadership. The caller also stated that police could trace the numbers since internet-based calling services were being used.
This is the second such threat received by Raghunandan Rao in recent days. On June 23, he received a similar threat call and subsequently lodged a complaint with Sangareddy SP Paritosh Pankaj, Medak SP Dr A V Srinivas Rao, and Director General of Police Dr Jitender.
Following Sunday’s incident, Raghunandan Rao once again alerted the police and provided details of the latest calls.
