Police take former ZP chairman Kamal Raju into custody in Khammam
A group of BRS leaders and activists led by former zilla parishad chairman Lingala Kamal Raju were stopped at the school entrance when they tried to visit the school as part of ‘Gurukul Bata’ programme being organised across the State to know the conditions at the residential schools.

Khammam: Police on Thursday obstructed BRS leaders from entering a Gurukul at Yerrupalem in the district to inspect the facilities being provided to students at the school.
A group of BRS leaders and activists led by former zilla parishad chairman Lingala Kamal Raju were stopped at the school entrance when they tried to visit the school as part of ‘Gurukul Bata’ programme being organised across the State to know the conditions at the residential schools.
The police took the leaders to the local police station. The BRS leaders and activists shouted slogans against the Congress government. Speaking to the media Kamal Raju complained that the government was murdering democracy.
The conditions at Gurukuls have been deteriorating under Congress rule. The students were not being provided quality meals as a result of food poisoning incidents taking place frequently, But the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the ministers do not have time to address the issue, he alleged.
Meanwhile, protests were staged at different parts of the district protesting against the arrest of former Minister T Harish Rao and G Jagadish Reddy besides the BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and others. The protestors demanded immediate release of Harish Rao and other leaders.
